Downham Market Workshops

On the banks of the River Great Ouse, Downham Market is one of Norfolk’s oldest market towns. With an attractive market place and a majestic black and white clock, the town retains a really intimate feel and has grown from being a quiet market town to a busy, thriving one.

Happy in the Moment is ready to make a difference to this bustling town.

We work here, at the Downham Market Library, a real community hub, to deliver mindfulness and meditation workshops for the whole community. The first hour of the workshop is dedicated to a topic of mindfulness and the remaining hour is for guided meditation..

What happens at these workshops?

Downham Market workshops run for 2 hours and in this time we will cover a mindfulness topic, guide you through a meditation plus we make sure to work in ample time for sharing and chatting with each other. We may also have guest speakers and other special events planned for some of these sessions and you'll be updated on these through your local group and through our facebook page

Each session is just ¬£10 per person, payable when you attend, and this covers the cost of refreshments. There is no commitment required, you can come to every session or just one or two that are of relevance to you. 

Each Workshop gives you all this:

  • Entry to our 2 hour mindfulness and meditation workshop
  • Access to the Happy In The Moment mindfulness program - special mindfulness topics which are designed to increase your self-awareness and your sense of happiness, to help you to live your best life
  • In-group guided meditations aimed at relaxation, stress-reduction and cognitive reprogramming
  • Hand-outs, information sheets and workshop packs to really consolidate eveything you've learnt at the workshop
  • A 'habit releaser' practice for the following fortnight. Think of this as brain training!
  • Access to special guest speakers and other special events
  • A friendly community of like minded people eager to share and support one another on your journey towards happiness
  • Access to our online community, support and resources
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits and that warm feeling that comes form knowing that you've done something really good for yourself and your own wellbeing.

THE FIRST FOUR WORKSHOP DATES & TOPICS....

  • Saturday 12th October 10am to 12 noon - Introducing Mindfulness and Meditation and your new group: what it is, and what it isnt! The stages of mindful realisation, the purpose of practicing it and its benefits to your wellbeing. 

  • Saturday 26th October 10am to 12 noon - Mindfulness and Your Personality: How naturally mindful are you? What do you think you are like? Getting to know your personality traits and temperaments

  • Saturday 9th November 10am to 12 noon - The Mind moving into 'being mode': The turbulence of our minds and how to steer them through the day into a state of pure present being. Gaining balance and pure present awareness

  • Saturday 23rd November 10am to 12 noon - Who am I?: Finding clarity by sifting personal truth from personal myth. Mindfulness and Identity and revealing your authentic self.
  • All workshops topics are followed by a break and then a 40 minute guided meditation.
